Photograph your ceiling. It'll tell you what happened in this room.
point the camera straight up and hand it over. filled holes tell you where a different light hung, a stain tells you which bathroom is above, a crack tells you which way the house has settled. mine found a leak repaired long before we bought the place. no typing, just the photo.
