Before you cut it open, get its guess at what's inside

photograph the melon before you touch it and it commits to what the inside looks like — how ripe, how pink, how hollow. then you cut it and find out whether it was right. i have done six now and it has been humiliatingly close on four. the one it got badly wrong was a pineapple, which in fairness is a nonsense object.
