thirty years of packing badly and the fix was never a list, it was seeing my own case packed properly with my own things in it. it rolls everything, stands it on edge, puts the shoes down the hinge — and it lifts two things out onto the bed as the ones to leave behind. it took the jumper. it was right about the jumper.
