The person who taught you, holding the thing you finally made

My father-in-law showed me how to sharpen a plane iron in 1998 and died in 2011 and never saw a single thing I've made since. I have a photo of him in his apron and a photo of the bowl I turned in March. Put them together and you get the photograph that was never going to exist. I am not going to pretend I was fine about it.
