One photograph, with the whole evening left in it

A teacher's favourite trick: hold the shutter open and the room tells you who it belongs to. One photo of our front room came back as the entire evening in a single frame — the kids crossing it twice as soft transparent streaks, me appearing at both ends of the sofa at once, and my wife perfectly sharp in her chair because she has not moved since 2011. The room itself is exactly our room. Tweak: 'make the dog the still one' and it is even truer.
