Photograph the new one you want. See the same thing, secondhand, in someone's hallway.

I had the new one in a tab for a month. This puts the identical thing in a stranger's hallway with a bit of dust on it, which is exactly what I'd actually be buying for a third of the price. It is a very effective and slightly annoying prompt.
