The family gossip session, photographed like a world summit

My sister and my mother solve everyone's lives at that kitchen table every Sunday. One photo mid-session, and now it's the official summit photograph: solemn flags behind them, water glasses, translation headsets, my mother mid-gesture like she's presenting evidence to the assembly. Their posture needed no changing whatsoever — that's what got me. The teapot now reads as protocol. Sent to both delegations; talks are ongoing.
